monty the dog, of 'Monty and me'. Picture of him losing his winter coat.

Every night, in his hungry impatience, he leaves his drinking water with a fragment of dog biscuit floating in it. The wife of my bosom, who has been watching far too much Gordon Ramsay, fondly refers to it as his 'signature dish.'

The first to claim the sketch in comments can have him signed and sent to them in the mail.

now that i've gotten that out of the way, i really like the sketch. it seems lighter & airier than a lot of your published penwork.

& i've never owned a dog, but i have a few parrots, & they always dunk their food in their water dishes & often leave it there. so that part i can identify with.

A sad tale: I go to Mr Campbell's blog, see it has been updated, and print off the last few entries to read in the toilet (at work). Have just sat down and seen the offer to send the sketch to the first commenter, and that there were, at the moment of printing, NO COMMENTS. Pulled up pants, washed hands, rushed downstairs to comment, BUT NO! SOMEBODY BEAT ME TOO IT! Then I go back upstairs, all sad, and someone else has locked themselves in the toilet, which I am now rather in need of using. Not that someone who takes reading material in with him can complain about other people spending too long in the bog. Sigh. My word verification word is 'cuntuts', which pretty much describes how I feel now.

Marcelo,
I always hated that card.
If you were to send it here you would be taking the risk of me destroying it.

Ah, ah!
Thanks for the sincere answer, mr. Campbell.
David Boswell told something like that, too -- but he will sign my card, anyway.
I am a great fan of your work (I have, for example, a copy of From Hell with a bookplate signed by you, Alan Moore and Stephen Bissette). That's why I ask you to think again. I'm being so stubborn -- and inconvenient, I know -- because this autographed card collection is very important to me. In a few years, I want to give it to my son, Mateus.
But, if your response remains "no", I will understand.
Best,

Marcelo

Ahh, she makes me laugh, that wife of yours. Tickled Pete's fancy too, after we were subjected to endless (though not completely unenjoyable) hours of Ramsay-watching while we were staying at my Mum's for weeks.
And I have a song for you to hear sometime.
Cheers
Liz
