Holy crap! That is never wee Cal. I seem to have taken a space jump through time again. (And I assume it is a slightly skewed camera angle and not that wee Cal is so much taller than you now.)

That photo is true to life except that in real life I don't look like a budgie sitting on his shoulder. (he IS six foot five!)

Congratulation to wee big man!

(6 foot five! What have you guys been feeding him? Or should we blame this on the French nuclear experiments in the Pacific, just like for Godzilla?)

I don't think I can dangle him off balconies by his ankles anymore.

Six foot five eh? Yep, he has grown a bit since I last saw him (he was 16 then I think).
So, If I recall my university colours correctly, yellow is Science, right?
A big congratulations to the wee Cal, and to you and the missus, for so obviously raising him right. :)
Seasons greetings to you all.
Alison.

This is completely unrelated, but I think you'll be interested, since your bio is featured on the book's Barnes & Noble page:

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/44-horrible-dates-eddie-campbell/1104176956?ean=9781402267475&itm=1&usri=eddie+campbell

By contrast, Amazon's page has your namesake pegged: "Eddie Campbell was born and raised in Los Angeles. He has a bachelor's degree from USC Annenberg School of Communication and USC School of Cinema-Television. His background is in art direction for both TV and film, creative direction, and graphic design."

I wonder who created the cover? Reminds me of Robert Ullman's style (ullman.lurid.com/spots.html).

Sincerely, [and anxiously awaiting the Bacchus omnibuses...]

Oh man.

Have you asked him to listen to the various ABC Radio National segments that would pertain directly to employment opportunities in Oz after so many programmes have been cut? As per the "Do you expect to get paid as an artist" special on "Life Matters"?

Or is he thinking to go the Speirig Bro's and Whannell/Wan route and do a short film that grants entry into Hollyweird, since nobody like the Speirigs or Whannell/Wan ever get cut a break in Oz unless they work for reality TV or advertising?

Considering the success of the "Groan" Transfer, I advocate the last option, myself.

Tir nam beann, nan gleann, nan gaisach...

Slainte to you and yours.

Congratulations to Wee Cal indeed!

I wonder If you recall any details about that outlandish vehicle in the younger photo? Was it a leftover from some Mad Max post-apocalyptic film? Or just the average way that Australians traveled to their local museum or legislature back in the 1990's?

Best Wishes,

That truck is a work of art!
I discussed it over three posts in the second month of this blog (with loads more photos and close-ups of details).

I photographed Cal in front of it long before I knew anything about it.
